Look what I found!

So I was online looking at all of the top stories on Yahoo and I found this article about logos and hidden images. I never knew that Tostitos had a hidden image. Anyway enjoy!

3 Good Logos 1 Bad

The four logos that I shared in class today.

Good Logo

I like this logo because it comes together niclely. The font is pleasing without taking too much attention from the picture and the picture was edited and positioned in such a way that it doesn't take away from the text below it. The picture of the bear translates the title of the company; Karhu, which is Finnish for bear. Hidden within the bear is a mountain, which is significant because Karhu sells sporting equipment.
Good Logo
The colors on this logo mesmerize me. I stopped watching tv a while ago so this new vh1 logo took me by surprise when I saw it. I like the idea of making the logo a 3D shape, to me it represents the new directions that they are taking with their channel. Although it's a music channel I'm pretty sure that they play movies as well.

Good Logo
From the moment I saw this logo I loved it. I guess it also helped that the type of PCs that they make are well designed and quite efficient. The hidden binary numbers (1 and 0) were a clever idea and the overall flow of the logo makes me think of something futuristic.

BAD LOGO!!!
It's too simple. I prefer logos that are complex or have a double meaning. I looked up the origin of the Arm and Hammer name on Wikipedia and I was shocked to find out that they named their company after Vulcan the Roman god of fire and metalworking. Another explanation for why their logo looks so plain is because they've been around since 1867.
